Kristan Karinen receives Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship
Kristan Karinen, a senior French and Francophone Studies major from Novato, California, is one of nine UIC undergraduates awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship for study abroad. She will spend a year in Paris, France. The Gilman scholarship program, sponsored by the U.S. State Department, aims to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go.
