New book by Junaid Quadri

Junaid Quadri, Associate Professor of History and Director of the Program in Religious Studies, recently published a new book with Oxford University Press. Transformations of Tradition: Islamic Law in Colonial Modernity examines the impact of colonialism on Muslim societies by studying how developments in Islamic law in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries were deeply marked by the encounter with colonial power and modernist ideals.
