First Lady of Lithuania visits UIC
First Lady of Lithuania Diana Nausėdienė visited UIC on September 23, 2021. As part of her visit, she met with Prof. Giedrius Subačius, Endowed Chair in Lithuanian Studies from UIC's Department of Polish, Russian, and Lithuanian Studies who presented her with a copy of his book Simono Daukanto Rygos ortografija (1827–1834) (Simonas Daukantas’s Rīga Orthography (1827–1834)). She also had the opportunity to meet with a small group of UIC students studying Lithuanian language and culture for an informal discussion.
