Rose Gérazime is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of French and Francophone Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago, as part of the Bridge to the Faculty Program. Her manuscript, Possessed: Poétiques de la Possession dans les Amériques analyzes the expression of spiritual beliefs in cultural productions from the "Americas". Prior to her arrival at UIC, she was the Ruth J. Simmons Postdoctoral Research Associate at Brown University. Her work has also received the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, through a Doctoral Teaching Fellowship at Morehouse College. Her research has appeared in The Journal of Haitian Studies and in the journal Chimères, a special edition on Edouart Glissant.
