Maryann Piel (Germanic Studies) garners Dean’s Scholar Award
Maryann Piel (Ph.D. candidate in Germanic Studies) was granted the highly competitive Dean's Scholar Award for the 2022-23 academic year. This award enables Maryann to focus exclusively on her research for her dissertation, Self-Made Royalty: Celebrity in German Literature. Maryann conducted initial research for the project while on a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) research grant in Wuppertal, Germany during the 2021-22 academic year.
