SUMMARY:Living Between the Lines: Translation as Creative and Critical Practice

The Classics and Mediterranean Studies Department ispleased to invite members of the community to a translation workshop with Dr. Patricia Barbeito (Dean, Liberal Arts, Rhode Island School of Design), an award-winning translator of contemporary Greek fiction and poetry. She will discuss the approach, methods, and principles she applies in her translations, and participants will have an opportunity to workshop their own work. While the focus will be on literary translation from Modern Greek to English, those with interests in other genres and media will benefit.
