Teaching of Spanish
For students interested in education, the Department of Hispanic and Italian Studies offers a major in the teaching of Spanish. This program allows students to take courses in advanced Spanish and in second language teaching. Students supplement coursework with real-world teaching experience as student teachers.
The major prepares students for teaching certification in the state of Illinois.
