By pairing “Breathless” with the Western genre, the talk promises to take a new look at a film that many people are familiar with. Revisiting Godard’s most famous film is also all the more pertinent due to his recent passing and the attendant renewed interest in his career. Tim Scheie is a well-respected scholar, and a compelling speaker. He has a book forthcoming on this topic: French Westerns: On the Frontier of Film Genre and French Cinema.
