Michael Bencur (Class of 2011)

Michael Bencur graduated in 2011 and was accepted at the Graduate School of Library & Information Science of Dominican University where he is working currently on a master's degree with a concentration in archiving and is hoping to do his apprentice work in a museum. In the summer of 2012 he was given the extraordinary opportunity to participate in the Archaeological Excavations of the Athenian Agora, Athens, conducted by the American School of Classical Studies.  For two months Michael not only helped uncover more of the buried past of Ancient Athens, he was also able to explore much of Greece and see the beauty about which he had read in reading the Classics. He writes: "This summer was without a doubt the best experience of my life."
