Academic Advisor, Kat Aldag, will present on Food and Agriculture Organization: Food Security in the Developing World at the InterGenerational Model United Nations.
Kat Aldag is the Academic Advisor for all programs within the School of Literatures, Cultural Studies, and Linguistics. She also serves as a Global Learning Community First-Year Seminar Instructor and as Co-Chair on the Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Women’s Staff Concerns Subcommittee, advocating for professional development opportunities and organizing campus-wide events. Additionally, Kat serves on the Undergraduate Academic Resource Committee, designing programing geared toward improving student success. As an instructor for the Global Learning Community Seminar, Kat teaches a First-Year course on global issues such as (im)migration, climate change, food security and food sovereignty, labor exploitation, and community formation through online social networking and other media, facilitating respectful debates and fostering cross-cultural understanding. Through the Global Learning Community, Kat serves as Faculty Advisor for Unite for Sight, a global health initiative to provide access to eye care. Additionally, she serves as Faculty Advisor for Thaakat Foundation, which promotes charitable giving and humanitarian work.
